Fantastic Fourth Celebration

July 1–6  •  Stone Mountain Park

A full week of Independence Day celebration with drone light shows and fireworks every night at 9:30 PM. A classic Fourth feel with plenty of space — a solid option if you want to skip the downtown World Cup crowds.

Free Admission & July 4th Activities

July 4  •  Jimmy Carter Presidential Library & Museum, Old Fourth Ward

Free admission for the holiday with kids’ crafts, cupcakes, and festive programming celebrating America’s 250th anniversary. A relaxed, low-key way to spend the morning before fireworks.

FIFA Fan Festival — FREE

Through July 19  •  Centennial Olympic Park, Downtown

The free fan zone runs through the end of Atlanta’s World Cup run — giant screens, live music, food vendors, and watch parties for every remaining match. Open every day, no match ticket required.

FIFA World Cup — Round of 16

July 7  •  Mercedes-Benz Stadium, Downtown

Atlanta’s Round of 16 match kicks off the knockout stage. Plan transit early — MARTA is your best bet. The Fan Fest at Centennial Olympic Park is a great free option if you don’t have match tickets.

Why July Is Actually a Great Time to Buy (or List) in East Atlanta

Every summer the same myth circulates: it’s the wrong time to make a move. And every summer I watch motivated buyers close on great homes in EAV, Kirkwood, and Edgewood while everyone else waits for fall.

The market has found its rhythm — homes are averaging 54–60 days on market, the metro sale-to-list ratio is holding at 98.6%, and the buyers still searching in July are the motivated ones. Sellers who price right are still getting strong results. And intown Atlanta, with its walkability, community character, and limited new inventory, moves differently than the broader metro. FIFA World Cup — Semifinal

This is the big one — Atlanta hosts one of only two World Cup Semifinals in the country. Expect this to be the highest-traffic day of the entire tournament. Give yourself extra time for MARTA and security lines; the Fan Fest is a great free alternative if you’re staying close to home.

A music festival and fun run in one — DJs, bubble zones, and light shows along the course, followed by an after-party with headliner DJs. A uniquely Atlanta kind of Friday night.

Atlanta African Dance & Drum Festival

July 17–19  •  Various venues, Atlanta

Music and dance workshops, a craft market, a headline concert, and food vendors across three days. Rich culture without a stadium crowd — one of Atlanta’s most distinctive annual events.

Ice cream vendors, wellness exhibitors, live music, and kids’ activities in the park. An easy, walkable Saturday for families — and one of the friendliest events of the summer.

Happy Black Parent Children’s Book Festival

July 25  •  Pittsburgh Yards, South Atlanta

A free annual outdoor book festival celebrating Black children’s literature, with local authors, story readings, and performances. A meaningful, community-rooted event worth making the trip for.
